The term "website SEO" is often used to describe the specific area of search engine optimization that deals with SEO factors based on the actual website, or "on page SEO". Although it more accurately refers to the wider and more general task of complete SEO including both ON and OFF page SEO.
Website SEO for On Page Factors!
When website SEO refers to simply on page factors, it is ultimately concerned with editing the content and text of a site. There are many companies which deal exclusively with just this area of expertise, although in my opinion website based SEO on it's own would never be enough to achieve any significant results.
However, website SEO does include many very important areas of optimization. Basically, just about every part of a page will play some role in how search engines read your page, categorize it, and rank it.
To that end, website SEO, (or the on page factors) should be your starting point with all SEO that you undertake.
The good thing about on page optimization is that it's a fairly mechanical process. Once you know what factors play a major role, and how to improve them, this stage of search engine optimization can be completed to a practically perfect level in a very short period of time. There's no reason why a single web page couldn't be fully optimized within less than 1 hour.
And of course once this is done correctly, it may never need altering again.
Website SEO is the first stage of complete search engine optimization, and should always be conducted thoroughly and to a very high standard before moving on to later stages of the optimization process.
